Newsletter #1 - E-mail Deliverability is Way Down for Sales Teams

It's Important to Monitor Your Outbound Metrics

Excited to report that we moved to beehiiv for our newsletter.

Here are some of the hot topics we're discussing with people today in Lead Generation.

  • Dramatic Decline of Deliverability on GSuite Accounts

  • LinkedIn Growth Strategy

  • Zoho as a potential SMTP replacement for GSuite

Google GSuite as a way to prospect

We're seeing some dramatic declines in deliverability on Google. It's likely that the training data has been shared both ways. We're finding GSuite is almost unusable for cold emails.

After our testing, we found that Google --> Google was bad and so was Office365 -> Office365.

We predict that more people will look into alternatives.

The current numbers for strong cold email campaigns on Google GSuite are 1 in 500 Positive Responses or 1 in 100.

We've also found domains burning much earlier. Teams with Sales Development Representatives sending +50 emails a day are impacted.

LinkedIn is Still Amazing for getting to B2B Buyers.

It's critical to get to B2B Buyers in a spot where you will get their attention. B2B Buyers see a 5x-10x increase in outreach campaigns.

The key to Linkedin Campaigns is "quality data" and leveraging the person's actual email to connect.

LinkedIn still generates excellent responses, and if you're able to target people who posted from the last 90-days, you can get a severe boost in your acceptance rates/conversion.

Zoho as a Shared SMTP

First, let's talk about what impacts deliverability reputation.

  • <3% Bounce Rate (use e-mail validation)

  • >30% Open Rate (at all times)

  • >10% Reply Rate (Includes positive, negative, and out of office)

The other factors come from:

  • IP Reputation (luckily, Zoho is shared like GSuite)

  • Account Reputation

  • Domain Reputation

  • Sender Reputation

So many think a dedicated IP for cold email is a good idea. It's not. In the cold email, you want to assume you'll lose the reputation of one of these services and it will fail.

If you do this, maintain quality data, optimize domain settings, and use 25/day email warm-up you will be in a much better spot.

Zoho is a good choice is because it's $612/per year for the emails (50 Accounts).

The one piece of advice to any SaaS Founder or future Business Owner, buy 10-15 domains so you can use domains outside your primary to send cold emails.

If you have 3+ SDRs, you definitely should not be using your primary domain name now as a Sales Organization.

Summary

It's time to get serious about Sales Teams' email delivery. Of course, LinkedIn remains critical because you can get the most attention in your direct messenger. But copy is vital.

Many orgs struggle with accurate outbound metrics. It appears more effortless than it is, but it has dramatically more complicated over the last couple of weeks.
